  1. As a man, I have always been intrigued by the fact that the abuse of women by men is so predictable and widespread. The question to me is, why do women take it?! I have heard police say that answering calls for domestic abuse is the most dangerous of all calls because they never know what the woman will do. Instead of supporting her rescuers she may turn violently on them! I also understand that most female crime is usually related to ‘taking care of her man’. The Bible tells us that that was the woman’s curse (Gen 3:16). Originally, after Eve was taken out of Adam’s body, it took little time before Adam became the first male abuser when he tried to blame his disobedience to his Creator on his woman (wife). I am not picking on any particular religion because I have noticed that this attitude is pretty universal in most religions and even among non-religious men. What do you think about the reasons for this?? Thanks

    1. Thank you for your comments. God originally created man and woman to be equal partners, co-heirs, and bearers together of God's image. And marriage was made to represent the union between God and his people. When humanity chose rebellion over fellowship with God, this whole system became corrupted. Abuse, selfish ambition, and subjugation became a part of the picture. And while those things do cross gender barriers, when you look at the world at large, men are principally the abusers, and women are principally the victims. Why this is this way it is, has filled up volumes of books, both theological and sociological. But note that God did not curse either the man or the woman in Genesis 3. He did relay the sad consequences of their actions, but He only cursed the serpent and the ground. Satan's goal is to denigrate God, and while he can do nothing to steal God's glory, he can and does work hard to smear God's image in us, and one of the main ways he does this is to corrupt and destroy the relationship between man and woman.
